Impromptu Beach Trip - Cape Lookout

Since Portland has been having some unseasonably warm weather and I happen to have someone in our house that doesn't love hot weather, we decided on a family getaway to a marginally cooler location - Cape Lookout near Tillamook.  Normally I try to apply some actions and editing to photos, but right now we have two bare bones computers, so I am exploring my purist self and presenting most photos with very little editing. You have been warned :)

These first two photos are awesome - capturing my kids just as they are. Sissy being disgusted by something Jude is showing her:
And this one speaks for itself.  Boss doesn't like to be encumbered by clothes. Or a diaper, for that matter.
I absolutely love this photo - it really captures the essence of Sissy's spark.
The Tillamook Cheese Factory came after our time at the beach - the kids got ice cream and enjoyed every bite!

Why bother with clothes? He ended up with a bit of a burn...
This is tough to see, but Colin was laying down while the kids had a good time teetering on all those rocks. I took the opportunity to read a good Irish mystery while on the blanket. It was divine.

Sissy was in heaven at the beach! She loved the sand the most, I think.
This kid is a massive eater - look at his belly! He looks about five months pregnant at any given moment.

There were lots of snacks involved with this day trip - when you have four kids, you get real used to packing a cooler. We brought a pound of lunchmeat, sliced cheese, a bag of chips, a bag of apples, pears for everyone, mixed nuts and a loaf of French bread. We only came home with some nuts. I no longer wonder why it's so expensive to feed my family.

Boss is a leftie. Through and through. Fifty percent of our kids are left handed - I can't wait to see how their brains differ from the right handed siblings.
I love baby hair - his is curly and super blonde in the summer (I call him "Malibu Boss" right now - he was blessed with Colin's tan skin).
The token feet shot (am I the only one that sees feet shots all over the internet??). By the way, this is my favorite nail polish color. Hands down.
Boss thought this was the coolest thing since sliced bread. It wasn't very effective at digging in sinking sand, but he didn't care.

Boss had a love/hate relationship with the ocean - he liked when it was sucked out and his feet sank, but he got a bit scared when waves came in and pushed him over.
Doesn't she look so grown up here? I can't think about it too long....
Action shot - these boys loved swimming and body surfing in the ocean with Colin. They were running away from the waves here.

Samuel enjoyed about 10 minutes of sand castles. It's becoming apparent to me that this kid is maturing - he likes to be with kids his age, reads a ton and doesn't love cartoons at all.

Sissy thinks this is her picture face.
Not sure what Boss is so perplexed by here, but he always feel safe with food in his hands.

Boss loves his Papa rides.
