Ahh - the last few days, once again, have been really great and laid back. We visited my aunt, grandma and mom, Colin's grandma, had a playdate today at Beckie's (I really should have brought my camera!!), I got out to a girls' night last night at Manzana in Lake Oswego, and Joel came to visit yesterday. And the boys and I just woke up from a wonderful nap. Here are some pictures:

Uncle Joel holding the boys. I like that both the boys LOVED Joel's cell phones.

Jude sneaking a turn with Samuel's bike (and the remote control) while Samuel played with Colin outside. Do note that Samuel is hanging Superman from his bike in some sort of suicide fashion. And how excited was I to put Jude in shorts?!

This one is funny - as Colin and I were cleaning up dinner, we noticed how quiet it was. We asked Samuel where he was an he replied "I'm watching Raymond!!". We should get Parents of the Year awards for 1) watching adult TV, 2) too close and 3) while talking on a cell phone. Samuel's latest is answering any ringing phone (beware if you call and I'm in the shower, because you will get peppered with 3 year old questions) and proceeding with a conversation.

While I was putting dishes away the other day, I walked in the kitchen and saw Jude licking a dirty fork - good thing I hadn't cooked raw meat or anything that day.

Yay! Jude LOVES my buckwheat pancakes - he eats them with just butter and I love that about him. Normally he looks happier while eating them...I think he's just getting tired of the camera.
This weekend I am nannying on Saturday night for kids both Samuel and I love, Colin is taking Samuel to the circus, and I get to attend a baby shower. But for today, the boys and I are spending the afternoon/evening at home.
So now that I am not burning up so many calories nursing, I have to watch what I eat and GASP - get to the gym. Ugh. Tomorrow morning is my first day back to the gym. And I must change my eating habits at least a little. Any suggestions? I cook pretty healthy, but I'm terrible about desserts afterward. I also love eating, so curbing that is really my greatest weakness. What are you all doing to keep in shape? I have also increased my fiber (if I eat buckwheat pancakes in the morning, I truly don't crave any food until lunch). Another weakness of mine is snacking at night - terrible!!

Can you post your recipe for the buckwheat pancakes? I would love to try them! Thanks!
I'm embaressed to say that I buy the buckwheat pancake mix by Hodgson Mill - it's a brown box by the other pancake mixes for about $2.50 at Winco. They also make whole wheat pancakes - very good also. Not good? Me slathering them with butter!
Do not be embarrassed by that.....I bet they are healthy! I have often wondered about them....now with the endorsement of Jude and you I think that I will try them for our family!
Just a thought on the whole eating thing ... because of other reasons Arthur cut ALL dairy out of his diet....butter, milk, whey, yogurt, dry milk, etc.....in EVERYTYING.....He has lost quite a bit of weight without trying.
Hey Kami! I hear you on the food thing, if I don't watch what I eat...it doesn't matter what I do at the gym. I have been doing body for life...which I love, because it's whole foods, no sugar, and you eat every 2-3 hours so you aren't hungry. I've lost 12 pounds so far, and I give myself one day to completely splurge each week. During the week I make some sugar-free desserts to calm the cravings. Anyway, just thought I'd share...but you gotta do what works for you. :) You look super though, I cannot believe you even need to worry about it!
Cute pictures! I'm glad you've been having a good couple of days.
I know what you mean about eating too much. Lately, I haven't been able to stop! My scone obsession has gotten out of hand the last few weeks!
Hi Kami! So I have one minor suggestion for your sweet tooth. I have also been trying to avoid all the extra sweets so if I feel like I have to eat something its some dried mangos they are awesome! I feel it helps out and they have no fat and are pretty sweet
