December Daily - Day 8

This particular picture is from November, but I feel it important enough to include in the December Daily album because it was a really cool annual tradition that we will start in this family.

This picture and blurb are from my Instagram:

Operation Christmas Child is such a cool way to bless a child and teach your kids that Christmas isn't all about them. There were so many teachable moments through this and I'm so grateful. My kids will thank me one day ;)

These "shoeboxes" go overseas to kids that otherwise wouldn't have a Christmas. My kids wandered through Target picking out hair clips, toiletries, hats, toys, school supplies, etc.  We dropped the package off at the local church to be shipped out in time for Christmas delivery. I think this is such an important lesson to teach kids - telling them that some kids don't get to have a Christmas. It's a very un-American concept. I hope to someday take the kids on a mission trip and show them how other countries live. This is such an amazing way to celebrate the season of giving.
