Easter 2013

I have been trying to get this particular Easter blog up for so long now - finally, it's done!! We spent Easter at Joel and Sarah's house - the kiddos did an Easter egg hunt and it is really cool to see holidays through a kid's eyes. They celebrate every aspect of life, and I love that.

Below Abe got a candy treat out of his basket - he is relishing the moment.
Here Abe is dying eggs for the first time. He was completely enthralled with the activity - all the kids were, actually.
Colin and Baby Syndey.
Sissy and the girl cousins had so much fun together - here they are discovering thier candy treats.
These are some of the finished dyed eggs.
I love this picture - it speaks volumes, doesn't it? I edited it to black and white and can't decide which I like better.
Jude loves hunting for candy!
Jude enjoyed dying eggs as well.
Samuel hunting for eggs - at this age, an egg hunt gets pretty competitive.
I love this picture.

Juliet's First Haircut.

Yesterday Sissy had her first haircut ever! Yes, ever. Her hair was getting uneven and long and tangled in the back. This girl was so excited to have someone pamper her! Even when the hairdresser was getting all the tangles out, she didn't complain.

Here is a shot of her reflection in the mirror.
Here is the after picture.
Above is the before picture. Below is Sissy watching Spongebob - such a treat! I never let my kids watch that cartoon.

Look how happy she is!
She is growing up so fast! She looks like a young lady here.

Below is how her hair after it was cut.
I can't wait to get these photos down in the scrapbook. Speaking of, right now Sissy (at 4 1/2) loves laying out her outfits, shopping for clothes and shoes, having her nails painted (and painting mine) and all things art and craft related - drawing, writing letters, coloring, creating crafts in preschool. She absolutely loves to have stories read to her (endlessly....) and just look at books by herself before she falls asleep in bed.

Family Fishing Trip 2013

We went on an impromptu family fishing trip in Canby this week and each of the kids caught a fish! It was really great family bonding time.

Below is Abe reeling in his fish. He was squealing in delight!

Jude was showing him how to touch the fish.
Can you tell Sissy was a wee bit tired and hot in this picture? It was during naptime, after all :)
Jude really thought he could catch the ducks, if he gave them enough food.
This was the fish Jude caught.
And Colin told the boys that kissing a fish would bring more fish in - so Samuel went in for the kiss. Blech.
The kids were hovering around the ducks here.
Here is the fish Samuel caught - he is just a little bit proud :)
This is Sissy's fish.
Sissy is reeling in her fish here.
This was before they caught anything - Sissy really didn't understand why she just sat there and waited for something to happen. I think fishing is a bit too passive of a hobby for her!
Photo. Bomb.

Europe 2025. PDX to Rome, Day 1.

This trip was many months in the making. I actually love making travel plans and this one was no exception. The difference here was that t...
