The Pumpkin Patch

On Tuesday Jude and I headed to Lee Farms with his preschool to visit the pumpkin patch and all the farm animals. Jude really missed Samuel, but I think he enjoyed the trip nonetheless =).Here he is picking out his pumpkin.
Here's his class:
And food/drink ALWAYS makes Jude happy (a man after my own heart). Here he is sampling the apple cider the farm sells.
Somehow he ended up on Mrs. Susie's lap.

And he wanted to pose the next day by his pumpkins.

It's The Little Things...

I love finding little treasures on the table like the one above when I arrive home after a long day of grocery shopping...

Samuel.

We took a quick trip to Rainier yesterday and I caught Samuel and Jude lounging with a bowl of grapes. He looks really long in this picture!

Scrapbook Night - October

I loved this month's layout!! Sewing, paper piecing, transparencies - all good things. Here's how the first one turned out:
And here's the second one:

I am actually going to do a third one with the same design because I am so behind on my scrapbooking that I need to start doing multiple layouts at once.

Juliet.

Sorry this is so blurry, but I had to show how I have been getting my Christmas projects sewn lately (with Juliet on my lap). I keep telling Colin we are going to have to buy her a sewing machine of her very own soon.
I thought I would share some pictures I have been taking of Juliet over the past couple of weeks.

Here she managed to get Colin to put Samuel's Batman costume on and she loved every second of it. Juliet's latest thing is climbing up to my craft table and pushing buttons on my sewing machine or helping me pin projects together (without my assistance - dangerous, I know).
She decided a couple of days ago when the rain started to enjoy it a bit. She licked the ground (gross) and mucked around a bit in her pj's before returning to the warm house.

The boys left for half a day to do a side job of concrete work (Jude and Samuel included), so Juliet and I took a girls day out. We started at New Seasons for lunch then headed over to Stumptown Coffee to try their cold brew (my favorite).

Obviously Juliet was interested in the people around her. I have to say this was the friendliest place I've been to ever (outside of New Seasons, of course).
Some lady even came up to us and talked to Juliet and told her how beautiful she is. You can tell below how much she loved hearing that =).
And this, my friends, was the coffee. Divine.

Pure, unadulterated caffeinated goodness.

Just Like Old Times.

A long time ago I met a girl on the bus to middle school that loved the same Cover Girl lipslicks and Exclamation! perfume as me. Katie and I have been fast friends ever since. Until the fateful day that she got married and moved 3,000 miles away. I haven't been able to forgive her since. Just kidding. At any rate, Kate made a rare visit to Oregon this last week and spent a couple of nights with me. With four kids to wrangle between us, it wasn't quite like old times but something of a new norm, if you will. We sporadically watched "Pride and Prejudice" and stuffed ourselves with cinnamon rolls (thank you, Pioneer Woman). Good times!

Here is her sweet little boy, Micah:
And Karli got to hang out with us for awhile - it really was great having girl time.

Potholders.

Yes, I have started on Christmas presents. Currently I am sewing potholders that I learned to make from an online class call "Home Ec". I paid an arm and a leg for it, but I figure if I make enough Christmas presents, it will have paid for itself. Right? So, here they are: It was my first stab at quilting and I ended up serging the edges for a funky twist. I heart my serger. I have about five more sets to make, then I'm onto hankies, aprons, bags, etc. And if you know you are getting a gift from me and have a suggestion, I will take it!

My Sous Chef.

It seems that I'm always trying to occupy this little one while I'm cooking dinner or else she screams and clutches my legs or tantrums at my feet. Either way, no fun. So, when I was making calzones, I let her help me. And help me she did.She took a liking to flour and garlic powder.
She's really taking a liking to domestic chores as well. She picks up the boys' dirty clothes and tosses them in the hamper without being asked. Impressive.

Europe 2025. PDX to Rome, Day 1.

This trip was many months in the making. I actually love making travel plans and this one was no exception. The difference here was that t...
