This has been a season of Colin daily training Samuel into new hitting form for baseball. It's all the time. Samuel wishes he knew how to change it, so it's been frustrating for both of them.
Smoothies are a part of my weekly routine. Lots of greens, flaxseed, almond milk, protein powder. It also serves to fill me up so I don't so much :).
Boss had a baseball game. He loves playing - he's in Transitional this year.
It's been hot - in the 90s. Kids have enjoyed popsicles and less clothing.
Brandy spent some time clipping threads on my Desta Girl project. This project is close to my heart and I've lured a lot of people in to help me sew kits this year.
Just normal chaos in our kitchen. It's the most used room in our house currently. I'm so grateful it's large enough to hold all of us and extras.
Colin has pruned and sprayed these roses this year - their beauty is stunning.
Love this kid. He loves telling cheesy jokes and just generally talking.
I usually always wake early and workout in some way - almost always at 5 am. I did a 5:30 am spin class followed by an experimental weight lifting at the gym alone. I had to Google "power cleans" because I literally have no idea what I'm doing.
Colin and Jude (mostly Jude) fixed the Traeger - it wasn't lighting anymore. That kid is so good with fixing things.
Family pic after Boss' baseball game.
Sis had art in Sherwood - it's a hike out there every other Friday, but it's a highlight for her to spend time with her friends AND do her favorite subject.
My favorite moment of the wee was ignoring my after dinner clean up and jumping into a basketball game with my family. The kids were shocked I would play. Samuel loved my scrappy defense and claimed I clawed him. Ha! I need to join in more often and let the dishes go. These kids are growing up so fast.
After art - some of the moms.
I spent some time working on sewing for the Desta Girl project.
We went to apply for Samuel's passport - a few moments before we left I read on my Kindle and Samuel practiced his swing.
I don't even know what's happening here. Something about his "American legs."
Samuel loves to annoy everyone - it's his version of being a teen. Here he eats Boss' dessert.
Samuel watches Boss' game.
Jude works diligently on math, knowing that when he is done, he gets to shop for a new watch on Amazon since he's always asking me the date and time.

Week in the Life 2019 - Thursday
The lens I should be looking through for this day of Week in the Life is "tough stuff." Currently there aren't any huge tough things going on, at least none that are represented in these pictures or that I want to share in this space. Mostly our day to day life is pretty positive.
Boss sometimes pops in my space in the morning to experiment with his hair. He thought he looked like Justin Bieber all day. Samuel continued to correct him.
I wanted to include the outside in this week - our yard is in full bloom and really beautiful. Boss has been a velcro kid to me today, so he included himself in this photo below, which is actually pretty charming.
Boss usually always wakes before the other kids and found him quietly playing in the extra room with his new toy.
Karen gave me some tomato plants, basil and potato seeds to put in our garden. It's such a blessing!
Boss and I somehow stumble upon the movies currently playing around us on the internet. Since I've been needing an alternate way of educating for a day (also known as a teaching day off), we picked "Penguins" - a Disney documentary. We stopped by Grocery Outlet to grab a snack and headed out.
Boss crawled in bed with me in the afternoon for a nap which really never happens anymore. I loved it.
My run before Pilates. I'm doing an advanced half marathon training plan in preparation for Hood to Coast.

They talked me into a lunch at Chipotle after the movie. It was a special day out :).

Week In The Life 2019- Wednesday
Today I viewed stories through the lens of "working on."
I work on Week in the Life journaling from yesterday. Life is so rushed now and it's nice to just take moments to document. I've always been a journaler,
Working on a clogged toilet. Samuel educates Jude on how to NOT clog toilets. "...you know how you have waves of poop? Well after the first wave, you flush...."
Boss is working on wearing a whole lot of Nike.
Boss also works on resting as soon as he wakes today. He lays in Sis' room while she plays with slime and they listen to an audiobook - A Series of Unfortunate Events.
I work on capturing them when they wake. I love that Boss wakes with a smile as soon as he hears my camera click.
The boys work on basketball during a quick break from school.
Someone has worked on eating all the brownies.
I see a whole lot of clutter in this picture and that's pretty normal for right now in life.
Jude is always working on Lego creations. His mind is so incredibly creative and he always has stories to go along with whatever he has built.
Jude working on sleep.
I work on more of Week in the Life and posting to this blog. I need a spot to hold my words and photos.
I work on getting ready for the day. I start strong with getting my hair dried, but often I don't have time for makeup like I would like. I get side tracked with school, laundry, feeding people, etc.
At the end of the day, I turn on "The Handmade's Tale" in my room. I end up choosing to stop watching the series this week because it makes me feel like I have to cleanse my soul.
A quick pic with these gals after Bible study.
The kids and I made a trip to the Red, White and Blue thrift store (our fav and where we get most of our clothes and books/toys). This Nerf gun was the highlight. Samuel stayed home to do school - he asked that we look for shorts, which we didn't.
My lunch of kale salad and salmon burger.
I love that she decorated her own door.
Lunch: kale salad with a salmon burger over it.
One particular teen works on brownies for breakfast.
This teen also works on a lot of school on the computer.
Samuel works on sleep.
Sis works on making brownies.
Tough day of school for her - lots of emotions surrounding math today. She chooses to work on it on my bed.
Slime is a thing with her now. She and Ruby spend a lot of time together and apart, perfecting their slime recipes.
She wakes with a smile and was texting Ruby and/or her Cruz cousins first thing.
Boss wanted me to take this pic of his new Nerf gun purchased at Red, White and Blue thrift store.
Jude loves his food.
